Kindness Toward Falun Gong by Government Workers Brings Benefits

September 16, 2015 | By a Falun Gong practitioner in Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) As a steadfast Falun Gong practitioner, I am diligent with everything Master has asked of his practitioners. I study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts at the global hours, talk to people about Falun Gong, and make prerecorded voice calls to explain the facts about the practice and the persecution.

Work Unit Meetings

I am an elderly retired female practitioner who started to cultivate in 1996. I was the only practitioner in my work unit after the persecution began. Since the management and my co-workers had witnessed my physical and mental changes after I began to cultivate, they did not give me a hard time, despite the persecution.

The work unit held two meetings of Party members and a general assembly of all workers annually. This was a great opportunity to talk to everyone about Falun Gong.

To help people better understand the facts about Falun Gong, I approached the subject from different angles and put emphasize on becoming a healthy person, which was well received.

I first talked about the practice in general and used my experience in returning to good health to show the preciousness of the practice. I said that Falun Gong is a cultivation practice of mind and body, which requires the practitioner to be a good person, live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and to do the five sets of exercises.

Shortly after the two Party meetings, a general assembly of all workers was held. I was expected just to go through the motions, so they could report to the officials in generalities. However, I talked for 50 minutes about Falun Gong instead.

Before I started to talk, I took a deep breath and smiled at everyone. Everyone looked at me nervously.

I talked about how Falun Gong is a benevolent cultivation practice that teaches people to be kind and good, and to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

The founder of Falun Gong, Li Hongzhi, told us:

“You should always maintain a heart of compassion and kindness. Then, when you run into a problem, you will be able to do well because it gives you room to buffer the confrontation. You should always be benevolent and kind to others, and consider others when doing anything.” (Lecture Four in Zhuan Falun)

As I talked, no one interrupted me. I realized that Master had reinforced my ability to speak effectively.

After an hour, I felt I had said all there was to say for the time. The work unit head ended the meeting, and many of those who attended the meeting shook my hand. Someone also told me that I had done very well.

Of course, it was Master who helped me and gave me wisdom, courage, and righteous thoughts.

Persecution-Free Work Environment

Since the start of the persecution, none of the leaders in my work unit talked to me about “the Falun Gong issue.” Rather, my colleagues did not snub me and always greeted me warmly. Many also quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations.

The head especially had a positive attitude towards Falun Gong. He never maligned Falun Gong during the Party meetings or the general assembly.

The head soon got promoted to deputy mayor, and the section level leaders were promoted to become department heads and deputies. Another group was promoted to section level leaders soon after.

This came as a big shock to people in other governmental agencies. They wondered why a unit that had no power or money promoted its people so easily.

They simply did not know that it was because the staff held kind thoughts toward Falun Gong and were thus rewarded for protecting practitioners.

Courage to Talk to Higher Level Official about Falun Gong

A female deputy municipal leader hosted a banquet for retired female officials close to the 2001 New Year. I thought that Master must have arranged for these people to hear the facts about Falun Gong, but my heart was heavy with worry.

Before I left for the meeting, I asked fellow practitioners to send righteous thoughts, and I asked Master, “This audience today is unusual. Their job titles are all higher than mine, so please help me! When I clarify the truth, please let them listen quietly.”

I then was confident and also determined in my heart because with Master and the Fa on my side, I would definitely do well!

At the banquet, many stared at me with an unusual look and asked me why I looked so young and beautiful. I told them that this was because I practiced Falun Gong.

“Falun Gong is not an ordinary qigong,” I said. “It belongs to the Buddha school. It is a practice that teaches people to become good and expects all practitioners to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It requires cultivation of your character.”

I talked for close to 50 minutes. They raised questions, which I answered patiently, and when we were about to say goodbye, I gave them each a Falun Gong flyer. With Master’s help I completed the task effectively.

After I returned home late in the evening, one person called me. “I have finished reading what you gave me,” she said. “Thank you!”

Hometown Folks Also Want the Facts

After I read articles on Minghui Weekly about practitioners going to their hometowns to let people learn the facts about Falun Gong, I felt I ought to return to my hometown, about a 200 kilometer distance from where I lived.

My husband and I returned to our hometown for two weeks, which gave us plenty of time to talk to everyone about Falun Gong.

A retired Party branch secretary and my nephew’s wife wanted to learn the exercises. So I invited them for two weeks to my house, during which time we listened to Master’s Dalian Lecture. I taught them the five sets of exercises and gave them each a copy of Zhuan Falun and lecture tapes.

My child and I went to my hometown several times thereafter to urge people to quit the CCP. During these trips, we showed the villagers the beauty of Falun Gong.
