Malaysia: Promoting Falun Dafa at the 2015 Taiping Peace Festival

September 29, 2015 | By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Malaysia

(Minghui.org) Malaysia Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the 2015 Taiping Peace Festival on September 20, 2015. They held “The Art of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truth-Compassion-Forbearance) International Exhibition” and a signature drive to help end the persecution in China.

Taiping means “peace” in Chinese and was given that name by the British colonial government aiming to end bitter feuds between different groups of Chinese immigrant mine workers in the 1870’s.

More than 2,000 citizens and many community leaders attended the this year’s Taiping Peace Festival. Many festival goers showed support for Falun Dafa by signing petitions condemning forced organ harvesting in China and supporting the recent wave of lawsuits against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for launching the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.

U.S. Department of State Official Expresses Concern Over the Persecution in China

September 29, 2015 | By a Falun Gong practitioner in Atlanta

(Minghui.org) In a recent letter sent to U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson, a U.S. Department of State official wrote that the department remains deeply concerned about the Chinese government’s treatment of Falun Gong practitioners.

Senator Isakson wrote to Department of State on August 24, about the safety of Atlanta resident Liu Yuelong’s sister, Ms. Liu Yueli. When Ms. Liu handed people Falun Gong materials near a subway station in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, police arrested her and kept her at the Guangzhou First Detention Center.

Ms. Liu’s family member were denied to visit her. They suspected she might face severe torture and brainwashing.

On the letter dated September 4, Julia Frifield, Assistant Secretary of Legal Affairs, wrote, “We raised the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners during this year’s high-level U.S.-China Human Rights Dialogue which concluded earlier this month.”

According to the letter, since 1999 the Secretary of State has designated China as a “Country of Particular Concern” under the International Religious Freedom Act for particularly severe violation of religious freedom. “The government’s treatment of Falun Gong practitioners is extensively covered in the Sate Department’s annual International Religious Freedom Report.”

“We will continue to raise our concerns over the general treatment of Falun Gong practitioners as well as individual cases of concern, and call on the Chinese government to respect the universal human rights of all individuals in China in accordance with China’s international human rights commitments,” Frifield wrote, “The United State strongly believes that the protection of human rights—including religious freedom—is critical to China’s prosperity, security, and stability.”

Bumper Crop after Quitting the CCP

September 29, 2015 | By Bao Yan, a practitioner from China

(Minghui.org) A small village in Heilongjiang Province experienced a bumper crop, while the neighboring villages had only an average yield from their fields despite the same growing conditions.

Farmers from the neighboring villages asked why things had turned out so well for that village. The soil, weather, seeds, fertilizers and growing conditions were similar, but my husband’s village had an exceptional harvest.

During the Chinese New Year, my husband went to his village to spend the holidays with family. I asked him to help his friends and family in the village quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates

When he returned home, he brought with him a list of more than a hundred names of people who agreed to quit the CCP. Most of them were his school mates, close friends and relatives.

The next year, an extraordinary thing happened. Their village had an unprecedented bumper crop. In spring, the villagers planted fields of soybeans. By autumn their fields had reaped a huge harvest, while neighboring villages got average returns.

All 47 Workers Quit the CCP

Around eight years ago, my husband’s younger brother came to our city to work as a temporary laborer. Life was hard and he fell ill. I took him to a doctor and tried my best to improve his living conditions.

He later introduced me to one of his close friends, who was a Youth League secretary in their village (a low level Party official). He knew a lot of people and I persuaded him to take me to his fellow villagers who were also working in our city, so that I could tell them the facts about Falun Gong.

We went to the worker’s dormitory where I talked to 47 people who were from the same village. After we talked for about 15 minutes, most everyone understood the facts about Falun Gong and agreed to quit the CCP. People expected that the CCP would be out of power in the near future and they did not want to be a part of it any longer.

There were a few who still had doubts and some even made rude comments. I patiently explained things to them and in the end, all 47 workers renounced their party membership.
