Switzerland: International Art Exhibition Presents Beauty and Hope

October 25, 2015

(Minghui.org) “I am deeply moved by the artworks for the rich content, especially the painting of a young woman who had bricks hanging on her neck. It touched my heart,” Commented Mr. Johann, who just visited the international art exhibition at Basel Art Center.

The two-week Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance) International Exhibition opened on September 27, 2015 at Basel Art Center. The exhibition displayed the beauty of Falun Dafa, the brutality of the 16-year-long persecution in China, and the hope that practitioners remain steadfast in their beliefs while facing torture and murder.

Visitors at the art exhibition

A comment in the guest book expresses appreciation for the artists and their efforts to inform the world about the persecution in China.

Johann read about the art exhibition on the Internet before inviting his friend Joe to visit it with him on the last day. He said, “The exhibition opened my eyes. I was shocked to see (the tortures in) the painting about a woman with bricks hanging on her neck. What have they (the persecutors) done!”

Joe, who visited the exhibition with Johann, said, “I often heard people say the Chinese Communist Party is a tyranny. But it shocked me that they even harvest and sell human organs.”

He added, “It is a disaster for China. The Falun Gong practitioners were jailed and organs harvested because of their belief. It is terribly bad.”

Melissa came from eastern Switzerland. She said, “I didn’t know much about China before. It seems so far away… whatever happens in China. But the artworks give me a personal experience.” “(Falun Gong practitioners) are so peaceful. (The Chinese Communist Party) shall not persecute them because of their belief. It absolutely shall not happen.”

Many visitors left comments in the guest book, thanking the artists for letting people know about the on-going massacre in China, and signed the petition to support stopping the forced organ harvesting, and the lawsuits against the dictator Jiang Zemin, who ordered the persecution.

Visitors also saw the hope and the beauty of Falun Dafa in the artworks even though many of the paintings illustrated the brutality of the persecution. Many asked about Falun Dafa, and wanted to learn the exercises.

Abused in Police Custody, Mr. Luo Guolong is Taken to Hospital for Emergency Treatment

October 25, 2015 | By a Minghui correspondent in Liaoning Province, China

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Luo Guolong, from Shenyang City, was arrested and detained in September 2015 for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Luo suffered severe gastric bleeding because of abuse and mistreatment in the detention center and was taken to the Shenyang City 242 Hospital for emergency treatment.

The 242 Hospital is associated with the police department. There is an isolation ward for prisoners in the hospital. Many practitioners who have been tortured have been held here over the years. Their hands and feet are cuffed to the bed frames, and they are watched by special guards.

Mr. Luo is a 62-year-old farmer, from Ciyu Village, Yinjia Township, Shenyang City. Since Jiang Zemin launched the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Luo has been sentenced to forced labor and tortured many times.

Mr. Luo’s family is extremely worried. His wife is almost blind and unable to take care of herself. His son is deaf. He is the sole caretaker of his family.

Mr. Luo Guolong filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin with the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Supreme People’s Court, the procuratorate, and the court of Liaoning Province, in early July this year. He was arrested on September 8 by the Shenyang domestic security police and illegally detained in the Shenbei Police Department Detention Center.

The lawsuits are mailed to the Supreme People’s Court and Supreme People’s Procuratorate, which are required to process all criminal complaints filed by citizens, in accordance with a recent ruling by the Supreme People’s Court.

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other members of the Politburo Standing Committee and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Communist regime established an extralegal security organization, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang’s directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows its citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.

Strong Support from Taiwan to Bring Jiang Zemin to Justice

October 24, 2015

(Minghui.org) Voices all over Taiwan are speaking out in support of Falun Gong practitioners’ lawsuits against the former Chinese communist leader Jiang Zemin, who ordered the violent suppression of Falun Gong in mainland China that is still ongoing today.

Since the end of May, nearly 200,000 Falun Gong practitioners have filed criminal complaints against Jiang with the Supreme People’s Court. Echoing the flood of lawsuits, 550,000 Asians, including 280,000 Taiwanese, have signed a petition calling to prosecute Jiang Zemin.

Taipei: Spectators Horrified at Forced Organ Harvesting Reenactment

On October 17, Falun Gong practitioners from Taipei held an exhibition at Ximending, one of the busiest shopping districts in Taipei, to inform the public about the lawsuits and ask for help to stop the persecution. Practitioners re-enacted the killing of detained practitioners to harvest their organs, a state-sanctioned crime in China, and collected signatures.

Practitioners re-enact forced organ harvesting and tell the public about the persecution of Falun Gong in China and the lawsuits against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin.

The brutality of the persecution, especially the harvesting of organs from living practitioners without consent, horrified passersby. Local residents and foreign tourists alike expressed their strong support for ending the persecution and holding the perpetrators accountable.

Aslan from Germany said, “It’s impossible in China…I have read Falun Gong books and support your peaceful resistance.”

Local residents Mr. Jian and Mrs. Zhan both signed the petition. Mrs. Zhan said, “Falun Gong’s teaching, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, is a basic moral standard. The persecution that Jiang Zemin launched and the organ harvesting defy the laws of heaven. It is great that Falun Gong practitioners are suing him. He should be brought to justice. Everybody should support the lawsuits. I just did something I should do. I hope my signature helps.”

1,000 Signatures in Hsinpei

At a Hsinpei train station on October 18, practitioners displayed a photo exhibit showing Falun Gong being practiced all over the world, played waist drums and sang, and demonstrated the exercises. The Divine Land Marching Band, made up of local practitioners, played at the event. More than 1000 locals signed the petition.

Chief of the Shulin District, Lin Yaochang, welcomed the practitioners and thanked them for their contribution to the community.

City council member Chen Shirong said that Falun Gong is a good friend of the people in the Shulin District. Mr. Chen signed the petition supporting the lawsuits against Jiang Zemin before the event.

Taipei Leaders: Lawsuits Should Be Supported Worldwide

The lawsuits against Jiang have also received support from many Taiwanese politicians, including a group of city council members in Taipei.

City council member Wang Shijian: “It’s time to take real action to stop the persecution.”

City council member Li Jianchang: “These lawsuits should be supported worldwide. I hope Chinese tourists can see Falun Gong events all over the world and how the persecution is condemned all over the world. I hope Jiang will be brought to justice quickly.”

City council member Zhang Maonan: “These lawsuits are just. The Taiwanese government must speak out in support.”

City council member Ruan Zhaoxiong praised practitioners for their courage in filing the lawsuits. “They have my highest respect,” he said.

City council member Chen Jianming said that international support can exert pressure on the Chinese Communist Party and help to end the persecution.

City council member Li Qingfeng said that those responsible for the persecution must face the consequences.
