October 26, 2015 | By a Falun Gong practitioner in Germany

( Ruhr News, a newspaper in Dortmund, Germany, carried a story about the local Falun Gong group exercise site in its digital version on September 27, 2015. The report was titled “Meditation in Dontmund Stadtgarten – Falun Gong Regular Group Exercises.”

Ruhr News report about Falun Gong in Dortmund, Germany

The report begins by describing the scene of eight practitioners peacefully doing the exercises together on the grass of the Dortmund Stadtgarten, a public garden in Dortmund.

“They were doing Falun Gong, five sets of exercises including meditation, which originated from ancient Chinese wisdom. Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are the core principles. Moral improvement and uplifting spirituality are the goals.”

Ground Breaking

“’The very first time I practiced Falun Gong, I could feel heat and energy flow in my body,’ said Sadrina Salmen, a young Romanian. She has been doing the exercises with others in the Stadtgarten every Sunday. The Stadtgarten has been the group exercise site for 6 years.

“Beside Sadrina, there are 3 Chinese, 3 Germans and a Bulgarian. Some of them bring their children. Most of them are interested in the wisdom of ancient China and Buddha Law. Sadrina heard about Falun Gong from her Chinese medicine acupuncturist. She was convinced the first time she read Zhuan Falun, the main study book of Falun Gong. ‘The book touched my heart.’”

Spiritual Cultivation

“Samet, a Bulgarian, has been practicing Falun Gong for years. What’s special to him about this mind-and-body cultivation was that it helped him see himself and principles. ‘It dawned on me what is true, and what’s not.’

“Meditation classes which harmonize body and inner being and uplift spirit, like Yoga and Taichi, have gained popularity in the West for a long time. Falun Gong is getting more popular.”

“Falun Gong practitioners have been persecuted in China since 1999. The Chinese Communist Party views the freedom idea of the practice as a threat to the party’s power. About one hundred million people were practicing Falun Gong when the persecution was launched. Since then, million of Chinese people have been arrested, imprisoned, and tortured. Many lost their jobs, were expelled from schools, or became homeless. Thousands of persecution cases have been documented.”

Chinese Authorities Use Marked ID Cards to Identify, Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners

October 26, 2015 | By a Minghui correspondent in Chongqing City, China

( Six Falun Gong practitioners from Chongqing planned to visit Pingtang County, Guizhou Province on September 9, 2015. When they purchased train tickets at the Caiyuanba Train Station in Chongqing, their resident identification cards were scanned, and two of them were taken to a police station. Officers confiscated their Falun Gong books, flyers, and other informational materials.

The railway police called the local Domestic Security Division to pick up the practitioners, but they refused.

“These people even dare to sue Jiang Zemin,” they were told. “If they sue us, we might lose our jobs. We don’t want to deal with this. You can talk to your local police.”

Before leaving the police station, the two practitioners asked the police to return their property. The railway police refused and said that they wanted to read the materials. The police drove the two practitioners home.

Many Arrests at Chongqing’s Train Stations

There have been many cases at Chongqing’s train stations where police used Falun Gong practitioners’ resident cards to identify and arrest them.

Ms. Qin Li from Jiangbei District, Chongqing was arrested at Fengdu Train Station on November 11, 2014. She was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison by the Jiangbei District Court.

Four practitioners, Chen Dingyu, Liu Qifu, Mr. Dai Guoquan, and his wife, wanted to travel to their hometown in Qu County on February 27, 2015. They were identified through their resident cards and searched by Qu County Police. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books and DVDs.

An unidentified Chongqing practitioner was searched when he bought a train ticket at Longtousi Train Station for a family visit.

Ms. Li Huilan from Xiaolongkan, Shapingba District was identified by her resident card on July 23, 2015. She was taken to the police station at the Caiyuanba Train Station and transferred to the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center in the Shapingba District.

Ms. Jiang Yourong was arrested and taken to the same police station after police checked her resident card on July 23, 2015. Officers searched her luggage and confiscated her Falun Gong books and music players. The police also interrogated her and took photos and videos of her.

When police departments make identification cards, they add special labels into the cards of practitioners. These labels can be seen when the cards are scanned. This is a violation of China’s Identity Card Bill.

Mother of Australian Resident Secretly Arrested After Filing Lawsuit Against Jiang Zemin

October 27, 2015 | By a Minghui correspondent in Henan Province

( Ms. Li Hui, a 53-year-old woman from Anyang City, Henan Province, never made it back home after she went to her workplace on September 29.

Ms. Li’s family, including her daughter living in Australia, suspects that her arrest was set up by the local police in retaliation for her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator who initiated the persecution of her spiritual belief Falun Gong.

In late August three local police officers visited Ms. Li and questioned her about the lawsuit she had filed in July this year.

She remains detained, and authorities have pressured her husband not to disclose her persecution to anyone. Local Falun Gong practitioners in Anyang are calling for people of conscience to help rescue Ms. Li.

Prior Arrest and Prison Sentence

Ms. Li was arrested for handing out materials about the persecution of Falun Gong in 2011. She was sentenced to three years in prison with three years of probation. She was released after 14 months of detention and ordered to visit the local judicial bureau once a month to sign her probation papers.

Her employer, the Anyang City Housing and Urban Planning and Construction Bureau, terminated her after her prison sentence. It refused to pay the pension for which she had worked since age 18. She made several requests to her workplace to resume her pension payments, but to no avail.

Ms. Li’s daughter invited her to visit Australia, but she wasn’t able to go because of the travel restrictions placed on Falun Gong practitioners.

An Appointment Turns into a Trap

This past July, Ms. Li mailed a criminal complaint to the Supreme People’s Court and Supreme People’s Procuratorate, listing the torture and unfair treatment she was subjected to for practicing Falun Gong. Her letter was illegally intercepted by the post office.

Ms. Li was visited by three police in late August inquiring about her lawsuit against Jiang.

Judge Li Shiyie of the Beiguan District Court followed up by calling Ms. Li and threatening to send her back to prison. Ms. Li then gave a copy of her criminal complaint to the judge and tried to convince him that she was wrongfully persecuted.

On September 29, Ms. Li’s workplace asked her to come to the office to discuss her pension. She disappeared on that day, and her family suspects she was detained by police.

Ms. Li’s family believes that her latest arrest is related the criminal complaint she filed against Jiang Zemin.

Ms. Li is still under arrest. The police have never notified her family of her whereabouts, and no one knows her exact detention location.

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang’s directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.

Responsible parties include
Chen Zhiwei (陈志伟), secretary of Political and Legal Committee
Liu Yaoshen (刘跃胜), An’yang City director of 610 Office
Guo Xiuhong (郭秀红), director of Wenfeng District 610 Office: 011+86-0372-5913402; 011+86-0372-5100154
Shen Haijun (申海军), head of Beiguan District Court: 011+86-0372-2097699
