20,000 Toronto Residents Support Falun Gong’s Lawsuits against Jiang Zemin

February 27, 2016

(Minghui.org) A petition signed by 20,000 Toronto residents was sent to the Chinese Supreme Procuratorate on February 22, calling for an investigation into the crimes committed by former head of the Chinese Communist Party Jiang Zemin in the persecution of Falun Gong.

That same day, local Falun Gong practitioners held a demonstration at the intersection of St. George and Bloor Streets, close to the Chinese consulate, in support of the lawsuits being filed against Jiang. It was an opportunity to tell the public what role Jiang has played in the persecution.

Practitioners in Toronto have regularly held similar events since last October, and successfully collected 20,000 signatures of support.

Toronto residents sign the petition in support of Falun Gong’s peaceful resistance.

From May 2015 to today, 205,000 Falun Gong practitioners have filed 173,000 lawsuits against Jiang Zemin for launching and directing the persecution of Falun Gong in China. More and more people all over the world have joined the campaign to support their efforts. In Asia alone, more than a million people have signed the petition calling for Jiang to be brought to justice.

Margaret Dinsdale, a local writer in Toronto, talked to practitioners for a long time at the event on February 22. She had heard about the state-sanctioned organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners, which shocked her a few years ago, and made her look for more information about Falun Gong and the persecution.

Margaret Dinsdale, a writer in Toronto, believes that it is important for more people to be aware of the human rights violations taking place in China. “Persecution is definitely wrong and should be stopped immediately,” she said.

Ms. Dinsdale was glad to see the banners denouncing forced organ harvesting at the event.

“I am writing a book on this topic,” she said. “I want to draw the public’s attention to this. When more people know about it, they will take action to stop such a brutal crime.

“You know, when I first told my friends about forced organ harvesting, very few believed it. I’ve been collecting evidence so that the whole world will know it’s true.”

She wished practitioners the best of luck filing lawsuits against Jiang Zemin.

Seventy-year-old Pedro, a local artist, read all the banners at the event and said he knew about the persecution.

“The new Canadian government should not ignore this. We must, the whole world must, do something to end the persecution and help to bring Jiang Zemin to justice,” he said.

“The Chinese government wants Falun Gong practitioners’ organs, because they are healthy due to this practice.”

Pedro himself is learning the Falun Gong exercises.

“The government should promote such a good practice, instead of suppressing it,” he believes.

Pedro encouraged practitioners to hold more events like this, so that more people will be informed about the persecution.

Gwen Macgregor, a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto, signed in support of Falun Gong’s lawsuits. “It is incredible that the Chinese government persecutes such a peaceful cultivation group,” she said.

Stamistan Gulegsky, a student from Ukraine, said that the instigators of the persecution should be brought to justice.

Growing Awareness of the Real Situation Behind the Persecution of Falun Gong

February 26, 2016 | By a Falun Gong practitioner from Chongqing, China

(Minghui.org) Although Falun Gong is still banned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), more and more people believe that the practice is good and that the CCP was wrong to persecute people who have this belief.

Falun Gong practitioners expend a great deal of effort, despite the threat of being persecuted, to let Chinese people know about the practice. This is to help them see through the CCP’s lies and propaganda, to understand who is the real violator of Chinese laws and the constitution.

The CCP Is the Real Cult

Several of my college friends met for a reunion dinner recently. I sat next to a friend who I had not seen in years. He told me that he was the head of the local Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC).

The PLAC is a spy organization similar to the KGB of the former USSR. The CCP uses it as a tool to control the Chinese people. In order to carry out the persecution of Falun Gong, Jiang Zemin, the former head of the CCP, developed within the PLAC, the notorious 610 Office, whose sole purpose is to persecute Falun Gong.

When I learned that he was a head in the PLAC I was a bit shocked. I asked him why he accepted such a position. He told me that he had no choice, as he was assigned to the post by his superiors.

I looked in his eyes and said, “Please don’t persecute Falun Gong practitioners. It is a huge sin. You must quit the CCP and its affiliates. If you do, you will certainly have a better future! Please let me help you quit.”

He listened with great interest as I continued to talk to him about Falun Gong. In the end, he said, “When I was first assigned to this position I didn’t know much about Falun Gong, so I asked my staff to find out more about it. They later told me that Falun Gong is good and that the CCP is the real cult.’”

I was relieved that he had already learned the true nature of the CCP, and I helped him quit the Party.

Then Save Me! I Hate the CCP!”

I talked to an elderly lady on a bus one hot sunny day. I told her about Falun Gong and helped her quit the CCP. I had taken off my jacket and put it down on the seat next to me.

The lady thanked me and got off the bus at her stop. A man who had just gotten on the bus took her seat. I offered him a Shen Yun DVD, but he told me that he had already seen it. I couldn’t talk much as my stop was approaching.

I got off the bus, but then realized I had left my jacket behind. My cell phone and Falun Gong amulets were in the pocket. I was a little panicky, hailed a taxi, jumped in and soon caught up with the bus. I hopped on the bus to grab my jacket, but it was gone! Someone told me that the man who had sat next to me said that he knew me and took my jacket with him when he got off.

Feeling upset about losing my jacket I looked within and found my problem – carelessness. I went to the group Fa study as planned. I thought, if I can find the man who took my jacket I will help him understand the truth about Falun Gong.

When I arrived at Fa study a practitioner told me that someone had called them from my phone and told me where I can pick up my jacket. I was delighted and headed out to collect it.

The man waited for me with my jacket in his hand. He told me to make sure that nothing is missing. I was relieved, as everything was still there. I told him that he was a very good person.

“So are you,” he replied. “You look so kind and even offered me a Shen Yun DVD. I’ve lost things before so I know how anxious you might feel.”

I was very grateful and said, “Thank you so much. I think we were predestined to meet so I can talk to you about Falun Gong. By knowing the truth about Falun Gong you can be saved.”

He smiled, “Then save me! I hate the CCP.”

I spoke at length about Falun Gong and helped him quit the Party. I also told him that repeating “Falun Gong is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” will bring him blessings and a bright future.

B.J. Penn, former Assistant Secretary of the Navy, was especially touched by the lyrics of songs performed by Shen Yun’s vocalists. To him, the lyrics provide “words for your heart” and “words to live by.”

Mr. Penn said the entire performance was very positive and “a good way for us to live our lives.” He was left with three words: “Peace, hope, happiness.”

“Granted there are mean people out there in the world, but we cannot let them get us down. We have to do the right things,” he shared.

“It touched my heart and it touched my soul,” she said. “Everything about it was just absolutely special.”

Ms. Steorts explained, “The message that I got was that we all have a part that is divine, and that we are here for a purpose, but then we return to heaven. And I thought that was really really meaningful. The way it was portrayed was fabulous.”

A Divine Performance about Divinity and Our Nature that Lives Beyond

Dave Wallace, Maryland’s Republican senatorial candidate
