Chinese Praise Falun Gong at Las Vegas Lunar New Year Celebration

March 09, 2016 | By a Falun Gong practitioner in Las Vegas

( Falun Gong practitioners in Las Vegas were invited to participate in celebrating the Lunar New Year on February 21, 2016, the eve of the Lantern Festival. It was a joint celebration by Chinese, Korean, and Japanese Americans, with dragon and lion dances and other ethnic performances.

At their information booth, practitioners played the Falun Gong exercise video, taught people the exercises, and helped Chinese tourists quit the Chinese Communist Party organizations they had joined. It was the 16th year that Falun Gong has been represented in the Lunar New Year celebrations in Las Vegas.

People of different ethnic backgrounds took this opportunity to learn about Falun Gong and the persecution of the practice in China. They asked questions and took introductory materials to read. Some learned the exercises.

Compared to past years, more Chinese took flyers and talked to practitioners this year. A Chinese lady bought a copy of Zhuan Falun. Another lady started to learn the exercises. A Chinese man said, “Falun Gong practitioners are extraordinary! I see you everywhere around the world, Paris, London, Hong Kong…!”

Congresswoman Dina Titus and administrators of Las Vegas Chinatown visited the booths in the afternoon. Representative Titus was given a paper lotus flower and a Chinese New Year calendar, and asked for her continued support of Falun Gong.
