Healthy Woman Held at Mental Hospital Again for Her Faith

October 11, 2016 | By a Minghui correspondent in Fujian Province, China

(Minghui.org) A Ningde City, Fujian Province resident is being held at a local mental hospital despite her doctors’ diagnosis that she has no mental disorder.

Ms. Ruan Aiyin was illegally arrested on September 1, 2016, for filing a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in her past incarceration.

She was taken to Ningde Mental Health Hospital on September 30 after her illiterate husband was deceived to signing the required paperwork for her detention. When he saw that she wasn’t freed as promised by the police, he made a request for her release the next day but was turned down.

Ms. Ruan’s family fears that she may be forced to go through the same harrowing experience that she had in 2008, when she was held at the same hospital and given unknown drugs that caused severe damage to her health.

7+ Years of Incarceration

Ms. Ruan, 54, started practicing Falun Gong in 1998. Her diseases disappeared soon after cultivation. She is illiterate, but she could read Zhuan Falun (the main book of Falun Gong). She has followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to become a good person.

Because of her belief, Ms. Ruan was illegally sentenced to five years in prison. She was illegally detained four times in the detention center, one year in forced labor camp, and one year in the Ningde Mental Health Hospital.

Ms. Ruan filed her complaint against Jiang Zemin in August 2015. She blamed Jiang for the brutal torture that she endured at the Ningde Mental Health Hospital and Fujian Province Women’s Prison.
