Rally in Vienna, Austria: “The Whole World Should Know the Facts of the Persecution”

September 30, 2015 | By Minghui correspondent Tang Xiuming

(Minghui.org) “The whole world should know about the persecution and what is happening in China,” said a passerby to a Falun Gong practitioner at a rally in front of Stephansplatz, in Vienna, Austria on September 19, 2015. The passerby and his wife listened to the speeches at the rally about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong and supporting the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, former head of the CCP who initiated the persecution in 1999.

The couple signed the petition opposing the CCP’s persecution. The husband, an engineer said, “We know Falun Gong. I think the CCP is terrible, which conducts such a horrible persecution that is more than a crime.”

“I signed the petition in Germany. I wish you success.” said the wife, who agreed with her husband on the issue.

The large banner worded “166,800 People Filed Lawsuits Against Former Chinese Dictator Jiang Zemin” was made by Belgium Falun Gong practitioners. “We made this large banner for activities in front of the Chinese Embassy in Belgium,” said Laurence. “My parents and sister have practiced Falun Gong nearly ten years. When my father heard of the lawsuit against Jiang, he immediately thought of letting the Chinese staff at the embassy know the news.”

More than 180,000 Falun Gong practitioners and their families have filed criminal complaints against Jiang as of September 18, for his abuse of power in orchestrating the persecution of Falun Gong. They urged the Supreme People’s Procuratorate and the Supreme People’s Court to bring Jiang to Justice.

Vienna, Austria: Candlelight Vigil at the Stephansdom

September 23, 2015 | By Minghui correspondent Rong Fa

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners who came to the 2015 Falun Dafa Experience-Sharing Fa-Conference in Vienna held a candlelight vigil at the Stephansplatz on the evening of September 18, one day before the conference.

Located at the center of the city, this square is named after the renowned Stephansdom, Vienna’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and one of the tallest churches in the world. About two millenniums ago, Christians were suppressed in the Roman Empire over a period of three centuries. They were torn apart by animals, crucified, and burned alive.

Similar things are happening again, in the 21st century. During the past 16 years, Falun Gong practitioners have been severely persecuted in China for their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

According to information received by the Minghui website, more than 3,800 practitioners have lost their lives due to torture while in police custody. Many more have been arrested, detained, imprisoned, tortured, subjected to forced labor, injected with nerve-damaging drugs, and become victims of live organ harvesting.

Michael Hofer and Julia Gegenhuber, two college students who were walking by, stopped to find out what the vigil was about. Upon learning that innocent practitioners were being mistreated for their beliefs, they joined the practitioners in the candlelight vigil.

After leaving his email address, Hofer said he would follow up on this human rights violation, and let more people know about it.

A banker who had traveled to many countries, including China, told his wife and daughter, who were visiting Vienna with him, that most Chinese people had been brainwashed by the Communist Party. When practitioner Djan told him about the organ harvesting from living practitioners in China, the banker was surprised by the atrocity. He signed the petition calling for an end to the brutality.

One company CEO said had not been aware of the suppression. He took some materials and said he would tell more people about it.

Vienna, Austria: People Across Europe Join the Call to Bring Former Chinese Dictator to Justice

September 21, 2015

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from more than 30 European countries held an event on September 18 at Michaelerplatz in Vienna, Austria, calling for support for the lawsuits against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin.

Since May, over 160,000 people inside and outside of China have filed criminal complaints against Jiang for launching and directing the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners passed out informational materials and collected signatures from tourists and other passers-by in front of the Michaelerkuppel, the presidential office building.

Karl Schilke, a retired college professor from Germany, signed the petition with his wife. While he has been concerned about human right violations in China, he did not know how severe the persecution of Falun Gong is. The couple were shocked when they learned about the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting from imprisoned practitioners.

Mr. Karl Schilke encouraged practitioners to keep up the good job, and wished them success in their efforts to end the persecution

“Truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance are great,” said Mr. Schilke, then asked his wife to write down those three words, which he just heard from a Falun Gong practitioner. “The exercises look so peaceful and comfortable,” he added.

Hanneke Cüypers and Harrie Schumans from the Netherlands were glad to learn about the lawsuits. Hanneke believes that the lawsuits are good for humanity, because everybody should have freedom.

“I want to tell China that the persecution is horrible,” Harrie said after signing the petition. “What I just did is something that everybody should do.”

Patrick Arthofer from Vienna started practicing Falun Gong one year ago. He was glad to take part in this event. “I want to tell more people about the persecution in China. I also want them to know that Jiang will be brought to justice soon,” he said.

Annette Dicarlo from Switzerland felt great doing exercises in a large group with so many practitioners from other countries. “The strong energy field at the exercise site makes me very comfortable,” she said.

As a Westerner, she is concerned about the persecution in China and the lawsuits against Jiang. “I came here today to tell people that what has been happening in China is relevant to everybody, because it [the persecution] is against humanity.”

Annette Dicarlo from Switzerland hopes that the persecution will end soon.

Ms. Dicarlo started practicing Falun Gong four years ago. She said, “I’d been looking for the meaning of life. I found my path when I read the book Zhuan Falun. Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are the basic principles that one should follow.”
