Recent Falun Gong Events — “My Heart Melted in the Artworks”

October 08, 2016

( Practitioners of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) around the world have held public events for more than a decade to raise awareness and call for help in ending the persecution of the practice in China.

This newsletter covers four events that took place in England, the U.S.A., Canada, and Croatia during the past two weeks.

Rally and March in London Call for Ending the Persecution

Practitioners in London held a march and rally in the downtown area on October 1, 2016, to expose the facts of the persecution, especially the state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living practitioners in China. They also called upon the Chinese government to investigate the former communist head, Jiang Zemin, for his crimes in the persecution. Many people signed the petition during the event to support Falun Gong’s peaceful resistance.

Thomas Recuiter and his wife were terrified upon hearing about the brutal forced organ harvesting atrocity. They could not believe that such crimes were happening in the 21st century. Tom video filmed their conversation with practitioners, and broadcast it live on his Facebook account.

Tom said, “This is anti-humanity. It is like a horror movie,” He said he hoped that his friends, a thousand of them, would watch the video clip on Facebook.

Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Art Exhibition on Canadian College Campus

The Art of Zhen, Shan, Ren International Exhibition was held on the campus of the University of Fraser Valley in British Columbia, one of the largest public universities in Canada with 15 thousand students, on September 25th through October 1st. All of the artworks were created by Falun Gong practitioners.

The artworks deeply touched the students and faculty and were highly praised by local artists. A few art professors took their entire classes to the exhibition.

What touched many viewers the most was the peaceful yet powerful spirit of Falun Gong practitioners manifested in the artworks, and the contrast of compassion and forbearance against the violence of the persecution.

Pouis Cloute said she felt sad that such evilness still existed in the world, but happy at the same time because she saw the uplifting of humanity too.

One of the guests said that he learned a lot from the artworks and hoped that more people can see them. “My heart just melted in the artworks,” he said.

Signature Campaign in Croatia

Practitioners from Croatia held a signature campaign in downtown Rijeka, the third largest city in the nation, on September 29, 2016, calling for help in stopping the forced organ harvesting in China. The local residents strongly supported the peaceful resistance. People said they were touched by practitioners’ efforts. A few visitors, after signing the petition, helped practitioners pass out flyers and talk to passersby.

Rally in Finland to Protest the Persecution of Falun Gong

October 05, 2015 | By a Falun Gong practitioner in Finland

( Falun Gong practitioners in Finland held a rally in front of the Chinese Consulate on September 29, 2015, to protest the persecution of Falun Gong in China that has continued for 16 years and to demand that Jiang Zemin to be brought to justice.

Since May of this year, more than 180,000 Falun Gong practitioners both inside and outside of China have filed lawsuits or criminal reports, charging the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with persecuting Falun Gong.

One practitioner, Ms. Lin, listed the crimes Jiang has committed since 1999, including his launching of the persecution, the creation of the 610 Office, and the systematic harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.

Mrs. Zhu Luoxin (left) recounts the persecution her family endured in China.

Mrs. Zhu Luoxin, another practitioner, recounted the persecution she and her family endured in China. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison for practicing Falun Gong. Her husband Wu Zhiping was held in a forced labor camp for 2 years.

The couple had been separated for 11 years before they finally reunited in Finland. Of the six people in their family who practiced Falun Gong, two of them lost their lives due to the persecution. Luoxin and Zhiping mailed their indictment against Jiang in June of this year.

Mrs. Zhu’s mother-in-law, a retired vice president of a Chinese hospital in her 70s, was sentenced to 7 years in prison for refusing to give up practicing Falun Gong. She died in February 2006. Ms. Zhu’s aunt, a retired middle school teacher in her 60s, was picked up by the 610 Office 3 times and tortured brutally, before she died in 2004. Ms. Zhu’s brother-in-law Wu Zhijun was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Her sister-in-law was also held in a forced labor camp.

During the rally, Falun Gong practitioners showed a video about the CCP harvesting organs from living practitioners and demonstrated the 5 Falun Gong exercises. By letting the public know that the CCP has lied about Falun Gong, practitioners hope people won’t be deceived by the CCP. They are convinced that justice will win out and Jiang will be brought to justice.
